David joined StopGAP as a dancer in January 2009, touring Portfolio Collection and now making his own role in Trespass. David trained at Middlesex University where he achieved a BA Honours in ‘Dance with Performing Arts’ and had the opportunity to work with Shobana Jeyasingh on the graduation performance. David then joined Verve 08 the postgraduate dance company at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where he toured throughout the UK and Europe performing works by Carol Brown, Darshan Singh Bhuller, Simon Birch and Henri Oguike.
After graduating from NSCD with a 1st class postgraduate diploma, David joined Springs Dance Company on the cathedral tour of Living the Eucharist, working with choreographer Suzannah McCreight.
David wants to build upon values instilled from an early age through working with StopGAP. Having also worked as a careworker for children with disabilities in his native Liverpool, David developed a keen interest in the issue of the ‘dance world’ not mirroring the inclusiveness of society. He wishes to carry this ethos into his professional career as a dance artist.
