Double Booked

Welcome to 'village hall life' – See our dysfunctional characters get themselves into hilarious, but heart wrenching scrapes and involve the audience in the chaos, in this delightful performance choreographed by StopGAP's own Dan Watson.

Photograph of the four dancers crouching up against a white wall looking directly at us, with shocked expressions on their faces.

An anarchic but affectionate look at the life of village halls and people who use them. A depressed caretaker, enthusiastic organizers, hesitant speakers and a mysterious man overlap and try to share the space. The music ranges from being atmospheric twinkling, a bizarre rant about health and safety, a love song for a chair, and finishes with a gentle lullaby.

This piece absorbs the individual aspects of each venue and the objects found within, so each performance is unique! – Let us in and watch StopGAP nervously discover the building, its features and the people in it.

Double-Booked is designed to be performed in rural venues only and cannot be performed in a traditional theatre.
