In a society where people tend to be categorised and assumptions are made about what is and is not possible, StopGAP works to empower our individual participants to question these conventions.
The company encourages individuals to reach out to ambitions they never believed possible and give them the confidence and skills to develop what they can really achieve. As our lives necessarily involve interaction with different people, StopGAP value and capitalise on the benefits of integration in turning these possibilities into realities.
StopGAP has 15 years of experience in running successful education projects in achieving our ambition. We have so far delivered a wide variety of projects:
We deliver tailor-made projects according to your objectives, and our programmes have been tried and tested to a wide range of participants across the globe. A project can be as long or as short as required, from a half-day session to a week-long residency.
An outreach project can be a short introductory workshop to creative dance, or a series of workshops with a programme to develop dance and creative skills. We can deliver a high-impact and enjoyable workshop at Day Services and Youth Clubs, or carefully planned workshops to supplement English Key Stage development in schools.
Our aim in outreach workshops is to demonstrate dance as a highly accessible artform, and are experienced in working in schools for students with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. We can also introduce integrated dance to mainstream schools using our team of disabled and non-disabled dancers.
In line with our passion for integrated practice, we welcome collaborative projects between mainstream and special schools.
